Bay Area Lean
Amit Rathore has some momentum for Lean in the Bay Area. So far 43 members and regular meetings scheduled. Kanban fans should consider convening Limited WIP Society meetings this way. I wonder if there is scope in the Bay Area for a 2nd group in San Francisco? Technorati tag: Amit+Rathore, Lean, Kanban, Software+Development, Project+Management, Software+Engineering

Worth Watching: Lean & Kanban Digest
Michael Dubakov is making his own community contribution by tracking web traffic on Lean and Kanban and publishing his own digest. A bit of duplication against the Limited WIP Society effort but well worth tracking. Perhaps Michael would like to start a Bay Area Limited WIP Society?;-) This Lean and Kanban Software Development Digest is well worth visiting if you are new to Kanban and curious. Lots of links to lots of good material. Technorati tag: David+Anderson, Lean, Kanban

Using Kanban to Fix a Common Scrum Anti-pattern
This is a nice blog post from Machiel Groeneveld discussing the common anti-pattern of the ever decreasing velocity on a Scrum team. By introducing Kanban this team was able to recover its velocity and get back on track. I’m looking forward to more posts from Machiel on this story. Technorati tag: David+Anderson, Lean, Kanban

Announcing the Limited WIP Society
Since the Lean & Kanban 2009 conference there has been growing interest in Kanban. Every day there seem to be more blog posts and Twitter traffic than ever. There is so much new interest in Kanban that a few of us, led by Rob Hathaway, in London, got together to form the Limited WIP Society. It represents an loose institutional home for all things related to Kanban in software engineering process.
We’re not trying to compete with the Lean Software & Systems Consortium. In fact the Limited WIP Society won’t have any formal membership though we’d certainly encourage the spontaneous affiliation of group meetings. The London based folks have partnered with the Extreme Tuesday Club to have a monthly meeting of the Limited WIP Society. If you are curious about Kanban and want to learn together with others who are also trying it out and experimenting with limiting their WIP, then get yourself along to the meeting, or if you aren’t in or close to London, consider establishing a group in your home town or city. If you are thinking of setting up a Limited WIP Society gathering in your area drop me an email and let me know, or post details to the Limited WIP Society web site.
